Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Kevin spent most of his early years in the South of England, before eventually moving to Toms River, New Jersey with his United States born wife Stephanie, in 2003.
Coming from a very creative family, he has been drawing and painting since a child.
He has a degree in Electronic Engineering from Bristol University UK and has a day job as a Design Engineer. As an artist, he is largely self-taught, although studied life drawing and painting through some evening courses at Brighton College of Technology while living in in UK. He is now a member of the Ocean County Artists’ Guild.
He loves animals, and lives by woods adjacent to Cattus Island County Park, which give him inspiration for much of his work.
His preferred medium is oil paint on smooth board with which he creates very realistic and highly detailed paintings, aiming to capture the distinctive light and atmosphere of New Jersey woodland.
